The motif
Two winged putti lean on a blank card tablet, one from the front with its chin propped, the other leaning against it from behind. The tablet carries the word Menu in fine script and a rocaille frame in pink and gold.

Craftsmanship and painting
Both holders are formed individually and painted by hand in pink, light blue and gold, the rocaille edges gilded with the brush. The tablets are smooth so that cards can be leaned against them. The piece is made of slip-cast porcelain which gains its hardness and gloss in the firing. Painting and gilding are applied by hand after the firing and fired a second time.

Placement and effect
The pair belongs on the laid table, at the ends of a buffet or on a sideboard with candles. For a large table several sets are worthwhile so that every place gets a holder.

Material and care
Porcelain is colourfast and does not age, a soft dry cloth is all it takes. Hand-painted areas and gilding must not go into the dishwasher. Because every piece is painted by hand, no two are identical: slight variations in tone and brushwork are part of the process and are not a defect.
